Home Learning at Kingsway

At Kingsway, we believe that home learning should:

• Develop an effective partnership between school and parents in pursuing success for all children
• Encourage children to develop the confidence, self-discipline and motivation needed to study on their own
• Be accessible for all children
• Be a positive experience
• Be a consolidation and reinforcement of the learning done in school, and allow children to practice skills taught in lessons

Most home learning activities will enable children to apply new skills in a fun context, such as MyMaths, Phonics Play, Oxford Owl, Spelling Shed, TT Rockstars, and Accelerated Reader quizzes. We also encourage regular reading at home, to foster a love of books and reading for pleasure.
